I´ve listen to the album a couple of times now and I think It´s the best album since Riskin... or Helpyourselfish - it got the songs, the attitude, and guitarlicks, a great album! But I think the drumming never been better, Laurst is a genius, listen to the drumming in last change to change for example - brilliant!

well.. the drumming is hard, and the sound is not living up to the big level where the sound should be!
so, the drumming is cool but the sound is a little bad! Soft Dogs's drum sound is a little better..
But your right. Laust is great! Got a drumstick from him ;D

Hehe and I realy like the sound on this one and tought it was a litte bit to soft on soft dogs...
Hoping to manage to get a drumstick on tuseday, then =)...

I think the drumming is brilliant.. and I don't think there is anything wrong with the sound..!
Posted: Fri, 2005-06-03 23:30

But anyways it still cool

HolmC do you also play drums??
Posted: Sat, 2005-06-04 17:42
I think you should see the bad as a part of the Album.
Posted: Sat, 2005-06-04 17:43
what do you mean...???
Posted: Sat, 2005-06-04 17:44
I think you should see the less good sound as a part of the album. the is not meant to sound perfect.
Posted: Sat, 2005-06-04 17:50
ahh smart

Yea it's probably the meaning... But god damn he is good... I'm beginning to believe that this is the best of their albums...
Hear the end of "Allright"...
Posted: Sun, 2005-06-05 19:13
Yes i do.. i have played all my life
Posted: Mon, 2005-06-06 22:41
Yup - the outro of "Allright" is simply awesome.
Everything works together, great rythm-section, awe-inspiring lead-guitar, cool vocal arrangement - this added together gives one of the all-time best D-A-D experiences!
Don't get me wrong, "Allright" is a great track, and surely one of the best on SY, but in the outro they just nail it - dead on!

Your right... it real rock on!

Hi @ all, my very own personal opinion is that sometimes there is too much drumming for a straight rock song like in LAST CHANCE...but as ever it is a matter of taste. Cheers Joachim
Posted: Tue, 2005-06-07 12:30
year.. but the drumming in Last Chance To Change, its very simple, and i like it a lot ;D
Posted: Thu, 2005-08-04 18:46
Yeah, Laust is so GOOD at it, much better than Peter.
Posted: Thu, 2005-08-04 21:24
Amen Kanze.. every time i hear the cd, i still think the drums are great.. And i still think the sound is a little bad... anyway still 6 stars to the new album from me

I love the sound, but it's more different from Soft Dogs.

Different soundscapes be that guitar, vocals or in this case... drums are meant to differ from album to album - that's my opinion!
I listen to a lot different music, and sound is one of the reasons!!!
Getting variation and width is essential to any musician or listener! It's dangerous to get stuck in one place or sound - and I think D-A-D have learned that through the trial and error-method!! Keep it up! One (album) is not better than the other - they are simply different in sound! And taste is the important factor here!!!
And yeah the drums and sound are great on SY!!
When I capture drumsound on tape (and guitar, vocals etc.) while recording smaller bands, I always was go for the band's sound and attitude at that very moment in time - asking myself what would sound great for these songs?!!
Laust knows this as well as the band!! Just watch the first few minutes on the SY-DVD! They are putting time and effort into the sound, changes kits etc. - just for us! Udemærket!!

Yeah, the drummin' on SY is very hot and also live... little addict,Good Day,Scare yourself and last chance especially touched me...
Posted: Fri, 2005-08-05 20:25
and lawrence of suburbia...yeah,the whole album...
Posted: Fri, 2005-08-05 23:17
who was the producer? was it Nickolaj Foss? i don't think so..
Posted: Fri, 2005-08-05 23:24
No it wasn't. D-A-D produced Scare Yourself by them self...
Anders
Posted: Fri, 2005-08-05 23:28
michael Ilbert on one song/tommy hansen/...Henryk Lipp was one of the producers on several songs ...in Sweden he's most famouse for having being in part in the duo BLUE FOR TWO...they were two freddie wadling and lipp ...lipp did the most instruments...lipp has a good reputation here in Gothenburg for being a good producer...
Posted: Fri, 2005-08-05 23:29
EXCUSE me... it was mixed instead of produceing...
Posted: Fri, 2005-08-05 23:30
Yeah I almost made that mistake too ;)
Anders
Posted: Fri, 2005-08-05 23:39
But the difference is that I can't edit it
Posted: Sat, 2005-08-06 13:44
Oh i see... Someone says that, the sound has been better if it was Nick Foss as the producer.. mabye, mabye not! The sound on Soft dogs is great, and Scare Yourself has a little special sound, but still nice - Camping In Scandinavia really rocks..
