Pretty outstanding design - fits well this outstanding band.
Nevertheless I prefer a clear structure for a homepage and really like the actual one. It's old, well, but working. The new design seems (!) to lack of this clear structure. To my pow there's no need for a change just to do a change.

Hej,
I like the new site, even with the weird structure. It doesn't seem too difficult and its beautifull!
Great work!

Well, it's very cool and I like the idea.
But, if I should use one of the lovely Donald Norman terms there is a bit lack of visibility in the design, especially that you need to scroll down to see the whole "scene" of the web page. I only noticed the posibility by a coincidence.
It may sound a bit critical and I do have an understanding for it's not quite finish.
I'm looking forward to see the final result! It seems very promising!

I really like it, somethings could be better, but let's see how it looks when its finished.
I would love to see the homepage as a poster actually, i mean: The D-A-D font is cool, and the background is wicked to and fits very well to the bandpicture, the only thing it need is the hole tourdate
And wupti, an tourposter is made

Is it just me or does the new website remind you of something really, really awful?
The gate and the inscription looks a lot like the entrances to the old nazi-concentration camps. The only difference is of course the inscription it self - at least it doesn't say Arbeit macht frei!
That was the very first thing that crossed my mind, when I saw the opening page and I must confess that I didn't feel like exploring it further.
I really hope, that the webdesigners know what they are doing and what signals they might send. At least I hope they haven't done this on purpose or to make fun of it!
I know many years have passed since WW2, but something as terrible as that must never be something, we make fun of or joke about.
I may be a little touchy (my grandfather survived a "visit" in Dachau), but let me just express my hope, that we shall never anything like that again.
We both have eyes and both can see
That there's no win in victory

I must admit that it never crossed my mind, but with a close relation to someone who went through those terrible years in the worst way I think you get more sensitive than the rest - luckier ones - of us.
It reminded me from the first time I saw it about the beginning of Pirates of the Carabbean 2, Dead Man's Chest, where Johnny Depp is floating in a coffin on the sea. The moonlight upon the sea and the stars, the fairground on 'the rock' leads my thoughts to summer, but there is a certain mysticism about it, but in a humouristic way, maybe because of the signboards with familiar words 'Ice Cold Beer, 'Molly Hotel' a.s.o. - and knowing you we know there is probably something funny 'between the lines' - I love the site
If we are put on earth to help other ppl - why are other ppl here?
Posted: Mon, 2012-01-09 15:31
hmmm, I can't see anything that reminds me of a concentration camp.
Many places have those iron gates.
Cemeteries, old amusement parks, animal parks, etc.
And with the isle in the background it looks more like somewhere in America, don't know why, but it reminds me of the USA.
But I can't see any similarities to a concentration camp.
But that's just my opinion
regards, Steffi

Can't see the resemblance between this site and a concentrationcamp, either. I like the new design, although the old site was easier to navigate through.
Also, am I the only one having trouble finding the newest post in here, all of them seem to be updated at 14.03 yesterday..
And lastly, I think it's quite annoying the site hasn't got a "remember me" function on the log in page, you have to log in everytime you want to comment, instead of just having the function of being logged in at all times.

The site remembers my login after I logged in ten minutes ago. Or maybe it's just my Firefox browser that does it. Anyway, I don't have login issues.
I imagine the 14.03 thing is a rollout/database issue. It'll probably be fixed.

I also use firefox.. And now it seems to be working
So never mind about that.. Just didn't work when I tried it the first couple of times..But kewl design! I think I can get used to it, even though the musik starting play all the time, could get annoying..

But I have a small problem: I can't hear the background sound.

Great new site. But does the song have to start playing on every singel page you load? I only want to stop the song once, not five million times more. Thats the biggest flaw yet. Other than that. I'd say this is awesome!
Posted: Sat, 2012-03-17 11:15
i really like the new look.
Only criticpoint is that the CD always start. Perhaps that can be fixed only at the startpage or a possibility to stop it in the configuration menu if you logged in?
i had open two sides and two different songs..

Good work and a great relaunch!
First time the site structure was a little bit confusing, now I try to come to terms with it. ;D
edit: Maybe I'm a little bit worry about how the site will work at an old computer...I have a new and fast notebook, so I have no problems to open the site, but maybe it could be a problem in the future....

Hey Sarah Nina,
I have an older Notebook, a Thinkpad T42 from about 2005, with Windows 7 on it.
The website loads fast and without fails.
The only problem is that I still have no sound

Hi Steffi,
It works for me to choose another date/venue in the drop down menu, for instance Markthalle, Hamburg (it takes a while to change though, so a little patience is needed).
What browser are you using?
Does it work if you go to the "Live" page (with all the tourdates) and click on the photo in the rightmost column instead?

after updating my IE from 8 to 9 the Photos section is working
But there's still no sound for me.
Firewall has been checked , that's not the fail.

P.S.: With Firefox there's no sound too.

Just a little thing; it's a little bit of annoying that the music starts automatically with every page view (and than always the first song - now I'm getting angry with "a new age.." ;) ). Would be nicer, if the users have the opinion to decide, if they want to hear music or not. So it would be better if the sound wouldn't start automatic..

Hej there...
suprise, suprise - this morning I entered the old design and now it all has changed. Nice to see the structure is clear and easy to navigate, good job. Thanks to all who helped creating this lovely and detailled design. Esp. the moving moon rocks BIGTIME. By the way - nice to see you're still holding the strings in the background, Adam
Bugtracker: The preview in the photogallery seems to need a fix or at least I'd personally prefer a change: Now we have a cropped (pre)view on the pics and I would be suprised if this is intended. It's not nice to look at the pics this way.
Bugtracker2: The signature under the posts are cut after a certain amount of letters. Nothing big, but would be nice if fixed. Edit: The missing parts of my signature unter der postings are also missing in my profile and cannot be added (the added text won't be saved)
Bugtracker3: Maybe not a bug but I wonder why I "joined in 2003"?! Should be 1999 if I ain't wrong.
Bugtracker4: Too many edits of a post seem to confuse the system. The Edit button is out of function, reloading the page brings a solution (opening the edit-window).
Bugtracker5: As the all time playing background sound was mentioned before (huh, I really like that riff of "New Age" - one of D-A-D's best) I'd like to add that this is even more nagging with tabbed browsing: in ev'ry new tab openen in firefox the playback starts. Sounds... ehm, weird.
Kind regards & Mooooooooh,
Capt. Spacehead

Excellent new web site!!! There's maybe some small things that still needs to be fixed, but nevermind the nerds! Instead please come to Finland again as soon possible!

The look of this new website is very impressive indeed. I am just wondering why some of the old discussion topics have disappeared? At least I couldn't find the "To Finland" -topic.

@Shandi,
We have done our very best to bring as much content as ever possible over to the new website, and we really hope nothing disappeared on the way. At least the topic you are looking for did not disappear. It can be found here: http://www.d-a-d.dk/meet-n-greet/discussion/topic/18141

@Webtender
Thanks for the answer and the link, but some of the newest messages were missing from "To Finland" -topic. The little review I wrote about the gig in Finland wasn't there any more, and at least one other message by another writer was missing.
