Sad to hear, but I really do like the album,! and can't wait to hear it live in febuary.. It's gonna be great!

I'm gonna buy it tomorrow.
Must admit I thought they were better this time, and some songs are better than SY, but some reminds me a whole lot of them. "Find a chord and jam it, jesper you scream, and then we make some noise". On SOME tracks
Find beautiful together quite okay
monster philosophy is great
nightmares in daytime is really cool.
milk and honey isn't good.
You wont change is okay as well. But no no "slagere" so far.
But what do you find bad about it? In specifik?

I really like it to, much better than SY.. the sound is more warm, and there are more variation between the tracks..
"They call you faumos, and people think you're insane.."

Good album - heard it maybe 10 times now. I think "I Am The River" is the weakest link on the album. And "If I Succeed" is not the greatest closing number either but everything else is good. I'm happy.
Great sound/production/mix by the way. MetallicA could learn something from a Danish lowbudget rockband, he.
Molly, she is brown-spottet, cheerful and she is Jolly.
Posted: Sun, 2008-11-09 21:45
I think 'revolution' might be the weakest link - if there is any ;)

I think I am the river is a quite nice tune!
Milk and honey and beautiful together are weak links.
Chainsaw was a nice surprise! Nightstalker grows on you.
Posted: Sun, 2008-11-09 22:43
Oh, and then just a quick nerdy thing. I think the Nightmares in the daytime solo is weak and boring compared to the clips and improvised solos on the 25th-d-a-d guitar website. Some of those were actually really cool!

Just heard the album a couple of times now, and I must say that it's one of the better D-A-D albums. MUCH better that SY, deeper songs, better lyrics and more variety.
Luck has found its rightful owner, still my eyes are closed..

I don't have the chance to hear the new album cause i'am french fan and it is not in stores here today, and i don't kwow if it will be. I'm surprised on words about the new album, i follow the band since 20 years now and i agree with fact Scare Yourself was not really the best album they did, so i wait for a lot of monster philosophy. I hope people who post bad news about it, will change opinions after more and more plays. Often best albums seem bad in the beginning. i hope it will be early available on amazon france. and i will be there in copenhague 7th march on 2009. best regards

okay..i did listen one more time...and hey...i have been around since "call of"...but still...they have to find the heart in rock´a´roll if they will be "the Kings"...it´s inbetween all or nothing. So bad...

some of the songs are great. But there a really a few tracks i just don't understand

I'm sorry but i been around since Call Of The Wild and this album is the worst i've ever heard from the boys, i'm very sad today
D-A-D will always be one of my favorites in Dk but this album will not get many spins in the player.

I think most of the songs are great. A great bunch of different rock tunes! Thanks boys
But what the hell happened to "money" it sounds weird and strangely slow compared to the live version !

OnlyRock -> Well, I just don't get a kick of listening to the album! I seriously think it's boring! There's a few cool songs, but that's it, from my point of view

tsk tsk... Well - I think the album is the most borring ever from D-A-D ! There is only a few highlights on the album - I don't think joshua and D-A-D is a good team.. It's too easy? Come on boys and girls - I thought scare yourself & soft dogs was borring - after i have been listening to monster phil., - well i don't have any words.. It's so sad!
It's too easy, the hole album sounds like an demo or something!?
It's just as much mainstream rock as soft dogs was - the diffence between these two albums are that soft dogs has a lot more quality!!! come on guys...

It's a fair record I would say!
I'm just so confused at the moment! In a strange way. I know what d-a-d stands for: DK's greatest live band. But I simply just got so many direction from the band now that I have a hard time to find it!
Starting with pure rock n roll. Then (my favorite) the metal sound. Then the maintstreem sound. Then the (sad) popsound, and now a mish mash with all of them combined. Why can't they stick or try to find THEIR sound?
I loved HYSF because of the sound of the record! Then you put on Soft Dogs. What do you have?
I love the band! I like the new record. I just get some kind of confused.
Are they trying to be a "Soft Dog band" or a rock n fucking roll band?!
The same goes with metallica. Good old thrash metal and without no warnings suddenly becomes a mainstreem rock band on the load records.

- Play Roskilde again

wow... i almost got carried away by all the negative posts and when i finally heard the album i was so skeptic i couldn't enjoy it... but then i cleared my head, and started all over with the cd... and i stick with my earlier statements... i love it! I really love the fact that they've put so many different genres on one album... it's great...
Posted: Tue, 2008-11-11 00:22
but i really miss a direction on monster p. - For me it looks like they just want to release an album for comming out on tour and that stuff?? The quality and the magic they have on so many albums is just gone. Songs like Nightmares in daytimes and money are okay songs - but that's it! it's not songs that you are saying: WOUW - that is D-A-D! a new legends or something like that.. Tomorrow they will be gone?
Posted: Tue, 2008-11-11 00:33
well agree to disagree

I think it is the best album they made since HelpYourselfish. It is not perfect, but they are moving in the right direction.

Got mine today, with the mistakes on the text etc as some have talked about, but I don't care about that..
Got to say It's a great album sofar, there are some songs I like a little less, but i'm sure(as all of thier cds for me) the more I listen to it the better it will get.
Best song: You won't change!

Wasn't THAT fond of SY, but Monster Philosophy is MUCH better! I was quite disseappointed with the first single, but the rest of the album is alright
Posted: Wed, 2008-11-12 17:22
I was really dissappointed the first time I heard the album, but it's getting better every time I hear. I, unlike many others apparently, think Revolution is great and would love more sonds like that. But I'm glad that Money Always Takes the Place of Life is on. It's really great. It's not the best but not the worst either.

I simply do NOT understand that Gaffa (or the reviewer that is) gave MP two out of six stars. The cd is better than that! I was quite confused before listening to the album myself, as many of you gave it bad reviews. But I must say that I am surprised.. Songs like MP, nightmares in daytime, you wont change etc. etc. make the album an album worth listening to! Of course, not all of the songs are brilliant, but maybe your own opinion will change later on? The cd does have potential, and I'm sure there's gonna be some kick-ass songs, when we get to the tour..
To sum up: not the best one, but definitely not the worst (does that even exist, when it's made by them?) 4½/6
There's no such thing as paranoia, it's always twice as bad as you fear..
Posted: Wed, 2008-11-12 19:18
@majken I don't dislike any of the songs. Let me put it another way. I like some of the songs more than others. Nightmares, You won't change, too deep, succed...just brilliant songs. got tears in my eyes the first time I listened to succed. I just like these more...for now, the songs keep groing on me as I get to know them better
Got to give it 5/6, my ears has had about 2 hours of silence today and I just can't stop pressing repeat thats how great I think it is

A great album which I have been listening to for a couple of days. I have had a hard to figure if I felt great or disappointed, but after hearing the all of it a couple of times it grows on you. And by now I'm truly happy and looking forward to 13.2.09
I have been af fan ever since the early days in 1984/1986 and went to my first ever DAD in 1989 in Esbjerg and have all their records and I think that this record some how is true DAD. On every cd there are songs which i'm not so fond of and others I could listen to all day long. Some records I hardly listen to but when played alive even those songs work. I think we all have our favourites among the cd's and songs, and that just shows how great a band they are.
My personal favourite is "money" but "nightmares.." , "chainsaw" and "nightstalker" are getting better and better.
I recommend this album to my friends and I believe this is one of the cds from DAD that will be played often
Sorry for my long post - but feelings about this record is hard to keep short
***** 5/6 stars

I would give the album 3.5/5.
At its best the songs are amazing (You won´t change, Chainsaw, Too deep for me). The weak songs I just dont get (Beautiful together, Milk and honey, Nightstalker). I quite like I´m the river, the mood and producing on that song remind me of the slower songs on Helpyourselfish.
I have a question for the owners of MP. In your copys sleeve, does the song Too deep for me have the lyrics of Nightmares in the daytime? Mine does. so NITDTs lyrics are on the sleeve twice. That´s quite strange. I wonder if that is intentional or just a bad print. I´ve seen weirder mistakes in sleeves that are done intentionally .

D-A-Ddy: Okay, thanks. I was just wondering
I think it's like 13 different kids on the album, and they're all nice on the surface and screaming little monsters on the inside.
(I actually once head a man describing his own children that way

Wierd.. Mine has the same mistake.. Dunno if it's on purpose.. Seems like quite a strange prank, don't you think?
Posted: Thu, 2008-11-13 00:42
Hmmm... My opinion?
I so agry with D-A-Ddy.
So much sound, cool guitar, the rhythm, the lyrics again and as always meaningful and great....
Listen to it several times... And have an open mind! Why comparing it to older material and albums? This is new, different, something else...
I love it!
